While nothing will keep you totally anonymous..protect all of your privacy...there are a few things you can do..to reduce the amount the collect about you.

And the most important thing you can do..is THINK first. Why are there contests on the net that seemingly are giving away things free. Well...shock..they aren't free. they collect all kinds of personal data about you..(if you want to enter you must fill in their forms) and sell it. Making money off your name and info..but you gave it to them. Anytime you provide personal details..think first..is it necessary...and what might they do with it. Also disabling JAVA, JAVA script and Active X, will help prevent rogue web sites from planting things on your PC that send them details about what you have stored.
