h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

And no that isn't a new range from the Hut for Halloween... Basically, folks, I'm feeling very rough and I put it down to the Pizza Hut I had the other night (we needed food and Bridie O'Reilly's restaurant had just shut up before we got there.)

And before you jump to the usual "oh-yeah-blame-the-bad-burger-and-not-the-18-pints" reply, I hadn't touched a drop for days! So I spent the next day alternating between working and throwing up. Hmm.. what a pleasant thing to tell you guys, eh?

Anyway - it won't stop me from seeing the most important thing of the season... Eddie Irvine winning (please god) the Formula 1 World Championship in Suzuka tomorrow. And the great thing is I can watch it at 3 in the afternoon (as opposed to the usual 5 in the morning debacle that I have to put up with back home...)

Now I know a lot of people out there don't think he deserves it because he's a loudmouth and not a great driver, and I'll concede he does shoot his mouth off a fair bit, but the important fact is it will really piss off Michael Schumacher and Jean Todt. And that's the crucial thing. Don't get me wrong - I have the greatest respect for Michael as a driver. But let's face it - he had been paid $180 gzillion dollars (i didn't know the real sum but i think i've got my point across) to win the Championship for the last 3 or 4 years and hasn't done it (although he did come damn close). Then to have the very cheap (relatively speaking) Irvine, Mr. No.2 driver, rising to the occasion (and the numerous attempts of McLaren to steal defeat from the jaws of Victory) to hopefully win the championship for Ferrari and then go off to another team. And he's Irish (which is reason enough to win everything!). But mainly cos it'll piss everyone off. Ain't no justice sweeter than that!

That said, it should be a corker of a race (oh - that phrase was a little too "Far and Away" for my liking, but what the hell - I don't have a delete key on this keyboard anyway..) and it'll do my tum a world of good no doubt!

Oh no... our worst fears realised - I got up at 5 in the morning to see Irvine NOT win the championship. He was robbed!! I'm very sad
