Fish's Freak Posted Sep 7, 2005
I've got a sore throat. But at least it's not too hot today. I'm in the library, it's a bit boring, and they made me wash the books today which I resented. But otherwise fine.
Hello.
Fish's Freak Posted Sep 7, 2005
Yeah, when babies spit on them we have to wash it off. And so on.
Hello.
Fish's Freak Posted Oct 6, 2005
I did. Sorry I took so long to reply, I've just moved to uni and it's been absolutely manic.
How are you?
Hello.
Fish's Freak Posted Oct 7, 2005
Not at all. I'm studying History at Lancaster. In the first year here you take 2 minors as well, so I'm taking religious studies and creative writing.
Uni is fantastic... there was a Luau last night, which was fantastic, although I think I missed a lot since quite a proportion of my time was spent with someone else's tongue in my mouth. It was quite funny though... If this wasn't a family site, and you weren't so young and impressionable, the stories I could tell...
But don't mind me. It's 8am and I only slept 4 hours last night, and I haven't showered yet cos my flatmates said they wanted to get up first, but they're still asleep...
Anyway...
Having fun?

I'm going to go to Lancaster uni next year hopefully! I can't wait! Which college are you in?
I went on a summer school there and loved it!
Hello.
Fish's Freak Posted Oct 8, 2005
I'm in Furness, which is totally the best college and you should definitely apply here.
What are you going to be studying?
Hello.
EndangeredSpecies Posted Oct 8, 2005
Biomedicine hopefully! Just getting my UCAS form sorted out!
You enjoying it there?
Hello.
Fish's Freak Posted Oct 10, 2005
Yeah, it's absolutely fantastic. I honestly couldn't imagine a better uni, it's great. I love all my flatmates, and my block is so friendly, and the college system means that you have something in common with many people already - but it's still easy to make friends with people from other courses. I'm checking out societies this week, so that should add yet another dimension of fun.
The only problem is that the campus is quite big, and I keep getting lost... but other than that, it really couldn't be better.
Good luck with your UCAS form - I'm sure you've heard this before, but the personal statement is quite important. Unis look for well-rounded students, and the PS is where they find out what you're like. Also, it's the main thing they ask about in interviews - well, at most unis, anyway.
Where else are you applying?
Hello.
EndangeredSpecies Posted Oct 10, 2005
Just lancaster because I don't want to move away from home so its quick and easy
But I'm going to apply for a few different courses so I have back up!
I can't wait to start Uni! What clubs are you going to look at?
Hello.
Fish's Freak Posted Oct 11, 2005
Well, I went to kickboxing yesterday, but it wasn't that good so I left early. And I'm going to the writer's guild, and people and planet, history soc, and ballroom dancing, if I get a chance. I don't want to sign up for too many though, cos I want to go to the gym a lot.
When I applied to Uni I deliberately chose to move at least 100 miles from home, so that I got away from my family a bit... I'm glad I did now, cos I haven't been homesick at all (yet), and I don't feel like my parents are breathing down my neck... Which gives me a licence to go a bit crazy.

I really want to do ballroom dancing when I go!
I'm going to go up to the uni soon to do aeroball because it looks really fun! If not a little tiring
Hello.
Fish's Freak Posted Oct 11, 2005
Yeah, I'm supposed to be doing that with my flatmates... I haven't seen it though
I didn't get to ballroom dancing, I was too busy... writer's guild was great, though. <biggrin. I had a whale of a time.

EndangeredSpecies Posted Oct 12, 2005
cool, aeroballs just a big trampoline with nets around it.
It looks extremely tiring though, not a good idea to play when you're sleep deprived!

that was a little weird! When do you break up for your holiday?
Are you shopping at Sainsburys, probably the most expensive local supermarket?
