Jimi X

Due to a set of unexpected circumstances, the lovely Mrs X and I were unable to see the film the weekend of its debut. And for the next month, we were without a free two hours to go catch it until the Memorial Day weekend.

On the night of 27 May we drove the 25 miles to the only theatre in the local area still showing it located on South Hanover Street in Carlisle. Sadly, the film was in fact playing in a theatre on South Carlisle Street in Hanover so we missed it again!

But we did get to see it at long last on 30 May in the right theatre - with a short 67 mile drive one-way!

The verdict - I liked it. However I thought it might have been rough going for anyone not familiar with the other versions. I also found the pacing to be a bit fast - it really overwhelmed the senses didn't it!

But I reckon I'll be getting the DVD whenever that time rolls around.

67 miles? Wow, you must be a true fan, Jimi.

I felt that way too about the pacing. It was over before I knew it. I want the DVD so I can go over it a bit more thoroughly.

It wasn't *that* far of a drive...

Besides, after waiting for years and years for it to come out and avoiding h2g2 for the past month to avoid spoilers, I wasn't about to miss it in the theatres!

Let's just say that I have a very understanding wife.
