h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I had the misfortune to come across an unfortunate lad who'd been set upon by a group of lads wealding assorted makeshift weaponry like hammers, baseball bats and bits of wood. He was looked after by some kindly locals after the youths had legged it and was taken to hospital by ambulance. There was a large group of youths nearby who saw the whole thing and who aparently treated the scene as their entertainment. God only knows what the injured lad had or had not done to deserve his beating. Thankfully he's still in the land of the living.
