Sadness

I have returned home after attending the funeral of a friend of mine aged 26. He committed suicide two weeks ago by hanging himself and although I did not know him as well as my other friends (as one of them lived with him) I still feel a profound sense of loss.
I had no idea what to say to his parents and decided that the best thing to do was to stick to "hello" to avoid saying anything banal or insensitive.
All of us who knew him have been left with a dreadful hollow feeling. There is nothing we can say or do to change it - only hope that time will ease the pain.

I'm sorry to hear that. It's so sad that someone so young felt there was nothing worth living for.
