Very well observed! I've met all those characters and a few more besides. Still miss martial arts but it's hard to kick head heights when you're afraid you're knee will wobble out of joint (due in part to previous training accidents).

*sigh*

Maybe I should take up Tai Chi?

really kicking to head height is no necessary, in a real fight, low level kicks are more effective, having said that, training for high level kicks extends your potential

Awww, thanks for the info about head height kicks, but you really shouldn't assume people don't know that.

I've done several martial arts, most to black belt, so it really wasn't necessary to point it out.

My last art was shoot-fighting/vale tudo, so using high kicks would have been damned stupid unless I was mega fast (which I never was).

But thanks anyway, I had a laugh at least. ;-D

sorry, I didn't mean to suggest not to kick to head height, only that for some it is not possiable unless they have trained for a long time or have natural flexibilty, some karate-ka have extensive skills but have difficulty with the head kicks. I have not done several martial arts, only the one, but have managed to gain dan grade level, I can still kick high but these days its not as easy as it once was smiley - ermbut still quite fastsmiley - runwith most other techniques

No worries, I took it in humour anyway.

Still talking about head height kicks, I have seen some fantastic KO's in the UFC etc, against some good grapplers so it isn't always the case where lower is better.

Still wish I could attempt some high kicks though, but seeing as my knee might flop out of joint and dangle uselessly, I think I'd best stick to low ones! LOL
