Born out of a sordid affair that saw a mother trade a loving husband and their two young children for a dark and painful relationship crafted from poison...is it any wonder that this moment, here and now with her entire being whole at last, feels to her nothing short of a miracle?
They can look behind, point their fingers of blame in all the wrong places if it eases their restless sleep but, every time they look forward they will see her, far ahead of where they left her and exactly where they always knew she would be. Every time they lift their eyes towards the sun they will see her light and feel the fear of all the cold and empty shadows they have cast.
Desparately clinging onto the pulse of faith that kept her blood from running cold and the breath of hope in her heart that forced her spirit to conquer her demons...their demons cruelly placed upon her by the cowards that created her, she learnt the similarities between them, mastered the show and then left them where they belong.
Embracing everything akin to her she moved forward at a quickening pace, turning her back on what they branded her...the child of consequence.
It isn't any wonder that she doubts her own deserving of each blessing yet, the tone of graciousness in her voice belies the spark of fire in her eyes. The strength of knowing and flicker of belief combining to power the love inside her...deep, unconditional, unassuming assurance of true spiritual love for her children, her friends and all the beautiful individuals that have touched her troubled heart or held hands with her lost soul as she traced the map of her life.
Today is a blessing, tonight another and tomorrow is a promise of what she believes and a glimpse of what she can achieve. Today is the last yesterday for who she was and tomorrow will be the first today of who she has become.
