Hi Mate

The 90th anniversary of Vimy Ridge a Canadian military milestone of note.

By the time the offensive was halted at the end of May 1917, The Canadian Corps lost a total of 11,297 men killed, missing or wounded.

The British had suffered heavy losses: First Army: 46,826; Third Army: 87,226; Fifth Army: 24,608.

Just a reminder

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear }

An occassion and circumstance that IS remembered, somberly, by most aspects of our military. Pretty sad, when you look at the numbers and try to imagine that many faces, eh?

Rev Nick { Only the dead are without fear }

Surprisingly, Remembrance Day (November 11th) has gained a lot of popularity and support in this countr over the past 5 or 6 years. Perhaps, and it's sad if true, it may be because we have finally been having a number of flag-draped boxes coming home. NOT something we had seen much of for a lot of years.
