Hello how is your trip fairing so far
My husband has now made contact with the husband of a friend I met on here and they have now started conversing does this make me a pusher as well as addicted to this site
Hope the weather has improved in your part of the world it is now perfect swimming weather here hot hot and hot.
I was listening to a man today named James Morrison he's an australian trumpet player among other things and by the sounds of it not only a really funny guy but really nice too so I am going to see if I can find part of todays broadcast online so I can paste a site for you on here so you can have a listen I think you might enjoy him too.

I'm soon away to another day of removing dirty old radio stuff, and miles of cables and wire. But so far, it's going good. Nicely a bit ahead of schedule.
There are quite a number of folks who's spouses, partners or "significant others" are also on here. Sometimes, it can prove quite fun, to see a couple jesting about. And always in good humour, of course.
If you do manage to find a link for your humourous musician, I'd be pleased to give it a listen this evening. I have such varied tastes in music, that I couldn't even begin to suggest anything. Well, aside from the obvious rock and roll of the 50s and 60s, and a lot of pop and easy listening of the 70s and 80s.

Well I am still working on a audio link but in the mean time I found the book he read from yesterday maybe you can get it through your library.
Tom used to play in a 50's rock and roll band while he was in the RAAF it always use to make me laugh by day they were also so serious and then on a Friday and Sat night they would cut loose,,, they actually got quite a few paid gigs on the side though they never let on to the brass

Our new and improved library still isn't very large or varied ... But I have sent a reminder e-mail to an alternate address. To remind me to look, once I am home again.
So are you perhaps in the thick and heat of the worst of summer now? Under normal circumstances, we'd be at about our coldest, and the fiercest storms. But this whole season has been so toned down by El Nino ...

Hello Nick
it is 10.30 at night and 40 degrees outside which I think in your scale is double it and add twenty. I am going for a swim shortly to cool off we have the ceiling fans going and Tom has just switched on the aircon but I don't think any of us will get much sleep tonight.
Friends have just left after a lively discussion and much laughter while all the children were inside watching a DVD we four adults have been on the back verandah discussing from our different perspectives what it is like to either be re-evaluating where you are in life or watching your partner
re-evaluate their life. Both husbands have come to a place at the same time of saying is this all there is and I am not happy and I want something different. So now we wives are saying what ever you need go and find it tell us how we can support you but in the mean time we have to get on with where we are at because we did what you are doing a couple of years ago and we know who we are and where we are going but we want you to know we support you but you have to do this for yourself.
It has been good to share stories and know that somebody else understood where we are at who was able to give us insight into areas we are struggling with and for us to do the same for them; and all the while laugh at ourselves and the whole process
Iam glad the winter is not so harsh for you there is lightning streaking across the sky here I sincerely hope it doesn't start a bush fire must go for a swim before I melt

Canada switched over to the metric system in the late 70s. So officially, our measures are in Celsius as well. Mind, I am old enough that I still think more in Farenheit, miles, gallons, pounds ...
That sounds like quite an evening of chat that you had. Relieving, relaxing and fun, all at once. Perhaps one day I'll sit back and begin to wonder and ponder, ... "where have I been, where am I going", all of that. Perhaps after I reach 50 or something. I'm still busy enough dealing with the today stuff.

I was right not much sleep was had and now the day starts at least the lightning didn't start any bushfires
It's funny how many people have commented to me lately how they are so busy taking care of the everyday things that there is no time for anything else... I think that time is speeding up and and we are all whirling through space faster than we ever have for all our contraptions and devices. I recently had some cds arrive from America by a man named Tom Lerhrer ) I heard one of his pieces on the radio and laughed so much I ordered them. What amazes me is that though these songs were done in the 50 60s he could easily have been writing about Chine North Korea America etc today its as though everything changes and yet nothing does...I am sure that somewhere in there a good star treck episode could be made if they were still shooting it

Oh please, don't get me wrong ... We aren't such frantic and "career driven" people that we miss the world going by. Sadly, I have a brother of exactly that nature. It's more that we simply are busy at work, then tend to our home and family needs, and when the quiet hours arrive, we just relax. It might be some internet time with friends, a movie and some wine, or even just a wood-fire in our fireplace. Neither of us have ever really come around to the "why?" stuff.
And this year is certainly not when that would happen. I am currently several provinces away from home. And I expect to be again 5, 6 or more times this year. And that isn't even including our anniversary trip to the UK.

*pokes a different thread, just because ... (hee hee)*
How was your night, good Lady? I see you are very nicely getting a feel for the flow of the Atelier. I really wish that I could follow it more closely, because there are a lot of genuinely nice people there. With a lot of wit, humour and intelligence to share.
One lady that you might watch for is "magichealinghands". An American woman who is a therapeutic masseuse, aroma-therapist, etc, who is really and truly involved in her gardens. What they can grow, display, enjoy. And a part of it is a personal vineyard, from which they do brew their own wines !!!

Good morning Nic, I was wondering if you were up and around
I have just been busy in my journal which I have taken to using as a sort of mirror I think
Yes I think I have a vague idea of how lils works and it is certainly stretching that unused creative imagination I use to have but fear I have not put to much use in a long time and I can hear the screeching and grinding as the cogs try to turn over
Whats on your agenda for today

I've seen your ponderings, and posted a comment. No worries about the creaking of rusty gears, Lady. If you have a nature and a way, it all comes naturally. I personally am not great in large numbers, but can participate sometimes. I think that you will find that crowd very welcoming, warm and delightful in so many ways.
My own day is coasting to a quiet end. My wife is just away to her "Women's Dart League", which proves to be my quiet night through the autumn, winter and spring. So soon, a light supper, some net time and TV, and then melting with a 13-pound boy-. Life is good.

Peek around my PS introductory page again for the pictures link. We have two cats, the Lady being a golden-eyed tortoise shell girl, and the lad being a green-eyed true master of the "manse". They are both from sad beginnings, and named Molly and Shadow ...
This time of the night, there isn't much of real interest on the TV. So I'm flipping between Star Trek:Voyager, an episode of CSI, and the evening news. Tha-rilling, eh?
