Hello There,

I read your post on the 'Breaking up is hard to do' thread and it has really struck a chord with me as that is the exact process I'm not trying to live through...I wanted some further advice off you if possible...and to learn about the things you did in order to cope.

My ex dumped me in March - we had some problems with intimacy and things came to ahead on Saturday evening...by Sunday morning it was all over, my ex said that she was no longer sexually attracted to me (I pushed for this answer) and that she had felt this way for a long time (since Oct last year) in that period we had moved in together and booked a holiday for the summer - so I was very confused...not to mention all the other feelings you mentioned in your post.

I've really tried mate - I've written her a letter and we've met up a couple of times and I've begged, we've also spoken on the phone twice but no matter what I say she won't have any of it - to her the whole thing is broken beyond repair and for me what we had is worth fighting for...last Thursday she saw a mutual friend for the first time and gave her the same story...I'm in absolute bits, this was the first significant relationship for me (I'm 26) and she has had a number of relationships before and has acted this impulsivley before (with the guy before me, dumped after 3 months before she for my number at a party - we go together nearly a year later) so she has a certain kind of arrogance when she talks to me about us...she's been there done that etc...

How do I get myself better? How do you find that acceptance and then move on - and more importantly - can we ever be friends again?

If you can help I would really appreciate it - your words struck a real resonance with me
