My name is TELEGRAPHIST SHENFIELD.
Having served on HMS Whelp as a Wireless Operator throughout the time described, including the Japanese surrender in Tokyo Bay, I would very much like to contact the author. Anthony Gatrell.
A fellow member of my Golf Club served on our sister ship HMS Wager that was the one other British vessel to escort the USS Battleship on this occasion.
