Why in power plants do they cool down the super heated steam after using once just to super heat it all over again

good question cyclops.u need 2 know 'bout thermodynamics 'fraid.its a bit complex but to get maximium energy=heat from the steam it is exausted to a near vacuum.to produce that vacuum the waste steam(after it has been thru the turbines) is cooled ,usually in cooling towers.this cooling "sucks" out more steam sort of releasing more of its energy than if it was just exausted to air. Bit like supercharging in reverse. got it.
