I cheat! I printed out the Smiley pages for a quick reference. smiley - smiley

http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/Smiley

There are text codes for all the smileys too, and those are the ones I generally use.

< ale > = smiley - ale
< bubbly > = smiley - bubbly
< stout > = smiley - stout
< stiffdrink > = smiley - stiffdrink

Except, don't put any spaces into the brackets and you should get the results you're looking for.

Cheers! smiley - choc

Being an ACE simply means that you're online and willing to greet newbies.

A good way to ensure you'll be selected the next time they appoint ACEs is to go around and greet Newbies while you're waiting - that way Peta will see you're really keen to do it.

Aside from greeting Newcomers, ACEs wander around and spread good cheer and happiness.

You can find a Newbie by looking under the Who's Online thingie and hitting the names of anyone who's been online for less than a week (it'll tell you who).

And don't worry if others have already said hello. Often times, several Researchers will give a greeting in separate forums and the newcomer can pick which ones seem like interesting conversations and chat back. It's just important to give them a helping hand in such a large and diverse community. smiley - smiley
