Yellow-eyed penquins and small blue penquins (and some other species) live in New Zealand.

A colony of blue ones live no more than 100 yards away from where I am typing this. smiley - bigeyes

Australia is 1200 miles northwest of New Zealand. smiley - fish

Very rare, endangered. The NZ land-based colonies are at threat from wild cats, stoats and other introduced obnoxious animals.

No walrus, they live in northern seas. Plenty of seals, sea elephants and sea lions
