A Conversation for Post Eclipse
The eclipse for me.

What an anti climax...a man on the BBc assured us all that the birds would stop singing and go to their nests. The public would go wild, it would go dark, or nearly dark, and what was it A WASH OUT.....I'm sorry but I have to say that I won't be booking time off for the next one, when incidentally I will be 101 years old, and all being well still around......it was rubbish.

Did you see it from Cornwall, Curly? I did, and it did go dark, seagulls did start to roost and it was an extremely spooky experience. I was on the cliffs of Land's End with about a thousand other people, and when the sun came back out everybody clapped. I have a feeling what you experienced was a partial eclipse (as opposed to totality which was only visible from the West Country). Also, the next one is as soon as 2001, but you have to go to South Africa to see it.
