Hi!
I'm Joe C, and I'm one of the Assistant Community Editors (ACEs) here. It's my job to say hello and help you explore h2g2.
Have some to keep you going
If you want to ask anything about how the site works, you can leave a message for me here (just click on the 'Reply' button after a message). Or you can go over to the feedback forums here: <./>Feedback</.>. This is my page - U218534 - go there and click 'Leave a Message' if you want to talk to me there.
If you want to find out how to get around, try <./>DontPanic- Tour</.>. Oh, and if you have any burning questions you need to ask about absolutely anything (from 'What is a pinnock?' to 'Why does tea taste sweet after chewing raw onion?'), go to <./>Askh2g2</.>. Loads of people hang around in there talking to other people, and answering each other's questions
If you want to know how to use smileys (like these , and even ), go to <./>Smileys</.>. Also, check out A690518 for tips on making your user page look a bit more exciting (with pictures and stuff). If you're using a digibox and have any trouble, you can pay a visit to Mr Manda at U193090 (he has lots more useful links for digibox users).
One of the best things about h2g2, is that besides reading and talking, you can write your own pages too. Do you have any hobbies, or interests? If you're interested, I'll show you how to go about writing an entry on them.
The Editors have set up a page to <./>Welcome</.> you. Finally, there's a page at A719840 with loads of links, tips for new Researchers (that's what we call our members) and so on.
If there's anything I can do, drop me a note . But remember - Don't Panic!
Joe C
(PS Yes, England does still use 'Yank', although not very much!)

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
