This has not been a good day for West Cornwall. This morning I went up to the village to discover that the plain had been cordoned off by the police because there had been an assault there late last night. No details have come out yet but we are wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that another village near here was cordoned off and people told to stay in their homes because a man was roaming around with a gun. We have been told that a 52 year old man has been arrested in connection with the gun incident, but that is all we know. It is only in the last few years we have had this sort of trouble and it is only in the last few years that the mining fishing and farming industries have fallen into an economic slump. There is a slogan painted on a long wall in Camborne.
'Cornish lads are miners and fishermen too
But when the tin and fish are gone what are us Cornish lads to do'.
Well it seems that what we do is get drunk and cause trouble.
The boss and I went to Pz. and did a bit of shopping.
When we came home she decided that this computer was in the wrong place. it was in the hall but she thought it would be better in our living room. That meant I had to move all the furniture about to get it in but now we are in the same room in the evenings, which is nice
The Son called in to tell us that the Y.G.D. did well in her audition last night but no one was told if they had a part, they will be told by letter in the week. So I suppose we shall have another few days of moods from our family 'drama queen'
Our young neighbour was married this morning he is twenty, his bride is twenty seven and has four children already. We often see him with the children and they obviously idolise him. let's hope it lasts
it has been a grey old day but no rain.
