E.D.G,s Birthday

The E.D.G. rang this morning from the car to tell us they were on the way home so we sang Happy Birthday to him and talked for quite a while before we realised that he was using his dad's phone
I took The Boss to Pz for her physio and then went back to The Son's house to give the boy his presents. He was thrilled with his skateboard and changed into the skater gear we bought also, and off he went.
The Son's family and his best friend and their family did not get on well while they were away together and it just made me realise that we made a good decision when we decided to turn down the chance of a holiday with our best friends.
After we left the family we went to Newlyn and bought fish and chips and sat in the car on the Mousehole road and watched the sun go down over the sea.
I was thinking that while we are enjoying our lives as we do there are people all over the world in real distress. The Russian hostage situation being a case in point. I appreciate how fortunate I and my family are.
