What is it with the damsels? we had a quiet morning. I pottered in the garden , fetched the papers, and chatted to The Blonde Next Door. The Boss cooked lunch as we decided to eat in today. During the meal she decided that the table lamps in our sitting room were 'No good'.
Why ? 'Because they're not, thats why'. Nothing would suit than as soon as the meal was cleared away but to get into the car and go trailing around with the other sad Sunday shoppers to find some good lamps. We found some she liked at the second store we visited which just happened to be twenty odd miles away. While we were there I discovered that tomorrow I will be painting the front gate and the shed door. How do I know ? because I was stupid enough to walk through the paint department on the way to the checkout with the bloomin' lamps Thats how!.
We have only been married 48 years so I suppose it is a bit soon for me to understand how her mind works.
The Birthday Girl rang and thanked us for the , we gave her an orchid which I really wanted to keep for myself. Who on earth said it is better to give than to receive? He was talking B******s that's for sure.
The really good thing about today is that The Boss was well enough to think about things around the house and to do something about it
We had a good drive in spite of the shopping, the only problem is I may have been caught by a speed camera as I was a little bit naughty on the Camborne by-pass a tad over 90.
The Son phoned but we haven't seen him today, he is cleaning out his garage, maybe he will find some of the tools I have loaned him in the past and never had back
