h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

We decided to go to The Lizard for the day. I packed a picnic and we left at about 10:30. we had a super drive, not many cars on the road. We stopped at Poldhu and had a coffee in the beach cafe, the coffee was awful but the view was terrific. Almost white sand and a calm sea. we stayed on the beach for about half an hour. I found a tennis ball and The Bruv and I played catch which must have looked a bit odd to the younger ones on the beach, two old blokes in their seventies playing around like kids.
Then off to The Lizard, we had lunch on the green. Bruv and I walked down to Lizard point and The Boss stayed in the car with the paper. The cliffs there are magnificent, the sea green and clear at the foot of the cliffs and deepening to dark turquoise further out. a couple of yawls were out, and a little boat with a figure pulling lazily at the oars slowly made its way around the point. It was breathtaking. We caught up on the family gossip as we walked and laughed a lot at other members of the family who are dafter than we are which makes them pretty eccentric..
We then went into the little serpentine shop on the green and we bought wrought iron plant pot holders beautifully made in the shape of three horseshoes welded together, so of course that was an excuse to go to The Withies , the little tearoom and garden centre the other side of Culdrose naval air station where we just had to buy some fuschias to go in our new pots.
We arrived home at about four P.M. just in time to see Nasser at the wicket knockin his way up to his century. As soon as the match was over I sent an e mail to our N.Z. brother in law it just said 'OWZAT'! He will be in
After the match The Boss cooked chops for dinner, The Bruv and I washed up and then went for a walk down to Cot Valley and saw a magnificent sunset.
The best bit of the day was , I went to the Doctor this morning, he told me the ECG scan was ppretty good for a man of my age and that if my medication is changed all will be well so I was to worry about it.
The others are in bed and I am here thinking how lucky I am to have such a good day.
