We were in the middle of doing the house this morning when Neville's widow came in for coffee and told me about the writers circle which had started here in the village. So of course as it was this afternoon, off I toddled to see what is what. There were only two ladies there and I thought it might be dull but in the event we had a brilliant couple of hours talking about books and writing a few haiku. I shall go again.
The weather has once more been lovely. We did some watering and weeding. I worry a bit about using water in the garden as we have just gone onto a water meter. however if at the end of 10 months we find it too expensive we can go back to paying rates.
I have to see the doctor tomorrow for the regular check on my blood pressure. It seems strange to me that I have risked my life in so many stupid ways over the years. Crashing cars and motor bikes. falling over cliffs, fell of a ship when I was in the navy, threatened with an armalite rifle in Christchurch, this week trying to eat a live electric cable, and yet it seems I might kick the bucket if I eat too much salt and forget to take my pills!!!

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
