h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Today started O.K. but finished pretty bad. We did some work about the house this morning and went to Pz this afternoon. I had 'phoned my son to see if we should pick up the boys from school and he said he would be very grateful as he had late appointments.
However it turned out he left work early, could have picked up the boys but went to the pub instead. He really worries us. This family has a record of alcohol intolerance and he is lying about the amount he drinks, he lies to get to the pub, and he lies about his work. He is a partner in a very succesful firm and he is only there because his mother and I bought him into it with our life savings. To us an enourmous amount of money. We are concerned because he has a huge mortgage, four children, and is spending money like water. If it all goes pear shaped we will not be able to rescue him.
On to lighter things. I bought a whole fillet steak this morning and have cut it into pieces and frozen it. The problem is that The boss bought steak last week and I had forgotten. We have enough meat here to last months.
we have found out today who has bought the house next door. She is a single woman of thirty who may or may not have a bloke. We are a bit worried in case she turns out to be a party girl as the walls of these houses seem to turn to cardboard when night falls.
