You made great points last night and seem more than qualified in this line of expertise. To be honest, I am a bit disappointed with the input and activity tonight. Reckon more are reading than responding, which is fine, yes but we need a little more weight. Not sure there is a lot I can add.

To set up a site outside the Beeb would cost a lot of time and effort and money. I don't subscribe to the view you can do it easily. I think the most logical thing is to ask some major sponsor to take it on like Microsoft or one of the tv channels. The problem is even though there are 230k listed members, there are probably only a few thousand active ones.

I also don't know what other writing sites are out there - I am sure there are a few.

If it was just a question of money then I think that we could sort that - but it is the time and enthusiasm and IT skill. I'm not in that industry, although in a general business sense I could help.

There are several putting a costing together, I will keep close to them and see whether I can add anything there. I am not a natural protested and personally I don't think this will work - so I'll let others have a go at that!

I do think a lot of good stuff was raised and it's great to see people getting involved and willing to help, but really, what can we realistically do?
