Jen,

I was just reading Scarlets series of stories. It appears that we both have significant parts in the drama. I don't know the John Mecca related history so I can't understand all of the references. I wonder where he's going with this; I'm not sure if he's trying to have a harmless laugh or if he's rattling cages again. I'll have to look up the history to get the true picture.

I've RED, digested & replied!
VERY interesting & bleeding funny too. It's amazing how WELL he seems to know things. AS do we, Loo!
Kieran, fear not. It's all a wee bit of fun WE reckon. I KNOW the best is yet to come. WHO dares wins. Think that YOU will get off lightly though, Kid! You ARE just like one of us, a pawn in Prince Scary Pimp's palm! Finger-less glove-love.

Jen and Looby

Are you two deliberatly trying to make me paranoid?

RED VERY WELL AS WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE

I'm not laughing and I'm not a pawn in anyones hand including yours.

You can keep your fingerless gloved hands to yourself.

You're not a pawn in the hand KJ - and we're not two in the bush!
How can we make you paranoid when you told me you're that way already! - be fair!
Don't worry - I'm sure scarlet won't let anything too horrible happen to you. It's only a story after all.

Looby,

I may be paranoid already but there are different levels of paranoia; a scale of one to ten if you like. Where one is going about your daily gw dealings without worrying and ten is leaving the site.

I was on a 4, then you suggested that I had lots friends using initials that I've never seen before; so that cranked me up to 5. And then now after reading Jen's hidden message and seeing her sinister laugh. I'm up to 6.

This is no good.

I don't care what happens to me literally in Scarlets story but I do feel uncomfortable when there are hidden messages in conversations, stories, poems etc. Why can't you just bluntly say what's on your mind rather than beating around the bush like two pawns?

I'm sure Jen will answer for herself - but she sure aint got no sinister laugh!
What is all this about secrest messages?
Your imagination is running riot.

Looby,

I hate it when people tell me to relax, it has the reverse effect.
As for secret messages, look at any barcode on a household product and what do you notice about the beginning, middle and end bar? 666

As for Jen's laugh: the laughter of a woman is more terrible than her tears and takes more forms- hollow, heartless, mirthless, maniacal.

There is only one smilie for laughter smiley - laugh
so I must always give Jen the benefit of the doubt but when she starts using encryption. I wonder if her laughs are sinister.

Kieran,

You disappoint me, never mind how you have surprised me with your remarks above.
'Sinister' you say?
You don't even know me. I've just read this conversation and I don't know how to react.

My first comment on this thread was to be taken in JEST. ANYONE could have seen that, and I thought you could, Kieran, 'man-of-word-play' himself. What are you getting so fecking paranoid about? It was basically agreeing with Looby's appreciation of Scarlet's hilarious story. My other comment reflecting on how really well he had depicted some of the other characters etc. Nothing more, nothing less, dear boy.

What SECRET messages are you talking about getting here then? Pleasefill me in. Why would I have to be secretive, what would I ever gain from that, on an open forum such as this?

Don't assume that everything is a dig/attack at you. It's not. Christ, is it not bloody obvious who and how I am about by now, then what is the fecking point? At least I've been straight up since I perched my sorry arse in here. I have NOTHING to hide or to prove. I just happen to write a little, chat a little, hang out, want to learn and help a little, and, weird how it is, have actually become very fond of a lot of folk here, who are more than just a bloody blobby cyber-clone.

Your throw a fly-by remark that you are at a '6/10' stage of quitting - well, please don't leave that on my doorstep. 'Tis bollocks. Look back to how it was a few weeks ago - who was there to rally you on?

I have stood by you and up for you. I have NEVER judged you. NEVER doubted you. Check your messages in both 'KieranJay' accounts.

I detest conflict, bitchiness, cruelty and selfishness. That is not my game. If I don't like someone, and by gawd that takes a lot as I forgive easy, then I avoid them, ignore them, step around them. It's called tolerence of indifference.

And I would like to think that I have been open, fair in my judgements and I always treat each person i meet with respect, unless they have given me good reason not to.

Thank-you Kieran. You do have a great imagination but thisis lame an spiteful. Imagine that!

Well, I was looking forward to reading some poetry etc on here earlier tonight. Lost interest, didn't bother.

I ain't laughing now, Kieran.

Jen,

I disappoint you- good choice of words- I've heard that one many times before and often they come from the people I really care about.

You are right of course; I don't know you. You are a pen name on my computer screen with admirable human qualities and failings but I'll never know you. I just see a projection of you on my screen; with little or no involuntary communication.

There are some smilies that confuse me e.g. the laughing smilie. It's nothing personal Jen, it's the age old intonation problem, you know, 10% what you say and 90% the way you say it.

For instance, if I say 'Yes' on this site then it could mean many things. If I met you in real life and said 'Yes' you'd have a very good idea which 'yes' I mean. There are over a dozen meanings to this one word and it all depends on intonation.

I'm not a very consistent reader Jen, sometimes I can read something and see it from all the angles, other times I struggle to understand anything I read from any angle.

English has always been my weak subject because I can only do it if I'm in the right mood. At School I was never in the right mood for it, subjects like maths and science were easy in comparison because you can slip into autopilot and still do very well. The answers are in black and white.

You're right about bullshit too, I may be 6/10 paranoid, but paranoia alone wouldn't force me to quit and I should have made this clear before; it's only one contributing factor. Other factors are more significant, e.g. my own ineptitudes, premoderation, frustration, boredom and low motivation to name but a few. Most of these troubles come from within and have little to do with this site. I’ll be explicit, there is nothing that a gw member or editor could say or do to me that would force me to quit.

I don't recall you judging or doubting me Jen so I needn't bother checking. I don't think I accused you of either.

>>I detest conflict, bitchiness, cruelty and selfishness. That is not my game.<<

I agree that those things can be detestable. Conflict is sometimes a necessary tool of progress but I can do without the others. I think you are tolerant and indifferent Jen. You're not flattering yourself or being condescending.

>>And I would like to think that I have been open, fair in my judgements<<

This confuses me slightly because you already said that you never judged me and I don't feel that you have. But then you must have made some judgment somewhere along the line, e.g. you must have decided that I overstepped the mark here.
This is why I'll never understand western philosophy, we're told 'judge not lest ye be judged' but then, I think it's naive not to judge people. Justice wouldn't exist without judges. I always get myself in that same twist; I think I know but I'll never understand. Sorry Jen, I think I‘m wobbling off subject.

You're right about the lame and spiteful words. They're not even mine and, in hindsight, I don't know why I used them. They are James Thurber's words (New York times, the secret life of Walter Mitty etc). Sometimes I use random quotes and forget to reference them. You are right to take those words as mine because I didn't specify where they came from. I'll take the blunt of your wrath on my chin because I deserve it. Mistakes have been made.

So, I'm sorry Jen. I didn't mean to make you feel that way.

This is the way I am, like me or loath me. Every so often I'll say something bizarre/unexpected and then I'll regret it. But I am making a big effort Jen, I'm trying really hard to control any disordered thoughts or feelings. This can’t go on.

Please don't step around me.

Kieran

OK, I see you're on line...

Fair enough. We said our piece. Peace be it then.
This was all so unneccessary, Kieran. Was no need for all this drama to be honest. Ach well. 'tis over now, I hope. Let's forget about it and get on with things.

Yes, let's forget it.

A few of months ago I was accused of being pure getwriting panto by various writers. Every now and again I go into panto relapse and it's embarrassing.

I honestly don't go looking for such silly drama; it doesn't do me any good.

Sorry again Jen smiley - cheerup
