I couldn't actually kill the moon because the phrase is simply a metaphor for rage, envy & passion -

i understood the poem though i cud never kill the moon, or feel jealous of her, she's above all that, serene and wandering, did u actually feel like that or is this a mild exaggeration?

I think to want to kill something that is dear to you in moments of rage, envy, passion, loss etc is not too uncommon - irrational, maybe.

Did you ever lose your temper and smash a favourite ornament or photo then regret it afterwards? I guess it's that kind of thing. Maybe you're a really calm person that doesn't do such silly things!

am very far from being a calm person, in fact am quite the opposite, but would never damage anything i care about that much.
i tend to bottle up my anger v. bad i know and then explode once a year by biffing the person who's pissing me off!
usually some poor sod in the street, so all i've broken r noses until now!
but it has 2 be something really bad for that, as i tend to keep my temper under v good control.
