h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

And so housebound following an appendectomy she came. She had read all her comics, watched all her DVD’s, she had even (gasp) played solitaire on her computer until little black spots had appeared before her eyes! It was then that she came to…the internet!

So here I am taking full advantage of this guide to share my mindless ramblings with everyone else out there! Already it has been a week of sitting, staring at my computer thinking that now is the perfect time to write that: novel, screenplay, short story...hell even a limerick! But as yet nadda!

So I come to you. Wondering...are there more like me out there? Well..? Are there..? Hello..?

Mindless ramblings are a journey in themselves - well IMO. I have friend [2legs] who is the master of that art from.

If you do write that short story you could get in 'published' in <./>ThePost</.> [our weekly 'newspaper'].

There are indeed many like you out here on hootoo and I'm sure you'll find them... if they don't find you first.

At the moment the short story involves a toaster (do all sick people eat large quantities of toast? I did when I was a student, am I becoming a student again?) but will keep you posted!!

Sorry for the late reply... I don't get as much time online as I once did.
I suspect the toast eating may be down a toast fixation unique to you Is it a talking toaster?

There are many MANY peple here to talk to and the vast majority are very friendly people...

You know when I was in Uni I worked in a Kitchen Shop (stay with me this is actually going somewhere) and one Sunday I was soooo bored that I wrote a short sketch about a talking toaster trying to take over the world, or at least the Kitchen Shop! Maybe that's where my story should begin...

See I knew signing onto this site was a good idea...already I am inspired!!!
