Hello
I saw you were Online and clicked onto your name and found myself in the middle of a conversation between you and Neil
One does feel like snooping, don't you think?
Is your mouth any better?
I feel so knackered! Couldn't sleep lastnight, am going to take a pill, what a lovely thought and I'll be comatose all night. Lovely!
Are you a good sleeper?
Have a nice week-end, what's left of it.
See you soon.
Catharina

Hi Catharina !!
It would have been all right to join the conversation with Neil and I. You should have said hello !! I think it's a bit like seeing someone you know well at a party, you'd speak then wouldn't you.
Helen, you, Neil, Penny, and Rich D are the people I feel most comfortable with, and I don't care what I say or do . Then of course I love Mike and Jason !!!!
My mouth is fine thank you.
Today we have gardened, walked the dogs then out to the pub and a take away Indian. Yummy. At least 3K calories I reckon all in one sitting.
My sleeping habits are usually determined by the amount of alcohol consumed. Unfortunately, waking at dawn as dry as a bone is not good. Then can't get back to sleep because of the birds !!
Speak soon, I will reply to your other messages soon. Sweet dreams,
Jen

Hi Jen
I've only just noticed your post and saw I hadn't answered. How are you diddling?
This sleeping business is a pain in the neck (or thereabouts)
I woke up BEFORE dawn this morning, about 3-30. Thinking of all the jobs I've got to do.
Had hair cut this morning and want to go and do a big shop, but wonder if I'll be safe driving with my eyes half shut and my mind in neutral.
Maybe I'll feel better when I get outside.
I usually wake up in the night when I've drunk too much, palpitations and feeling panicky. Why do we do it? It is so nice at the time, though, isn't it, and no matter how horrible you feel the next day, you never remember that when there's a glass in your hand.
So, I'll just have a strong coffee and get on my way, I think. Got to buy some more wine anyway!!
See you soon

Hi Catharina !
I still have another of your posts to reply to, and will hopefully get round to it later.
How are Holland doing ?
I've just been to Tesco and bought wine as I was completely out. I have been trying to be 'good' as I was feeling quite embarrassed at the number of late night e mails I was sending whilst in my cups so to speak.
Weather a bit iffy, but dry and sunny today. I have had my sister in law and husband staying and although the weather wasn't brilliant, we were out and about all the time. Plenty of food, drink and laughter ! I was sorry to see them leave although I was pretty exhausted with the cooking etc.
Posted a couple of dreadful 'jokes' on the Coffee Board, and I am getting a bit of stick from the men !
Where are all the women tonight ? Not watching the footie surely ?
Well, must go and have a quick tidy up (wash the dishes more like) and then have a sit down with a large glass of Merlot.
Speak soon, sorry again not to have replied sooner,
Love and
Jen

Hiya Jen
Well, Holland is out, Tim is out, so now we can all get some peace.
I don't know where the others were, but, yes, I was watching footie. The fans take it all so seriously, don't they?
I think you're right about the "haves and have nots", I think life has always been thus and maybe it'll never change, although it's amazing how many new, young tennis-players are coming from Russia now, but, there again, they are probably the nouveau riche there.
I had to laugh that you start sending iffy e-mails when you're in your cups. Think I know what you mean, though, I believe I'm ever so funny when I'm drunk. It's the looks on other people's faces that tell me otherwise.
When my husband was alive, he had to keep quite sober when we went to parties as he had to drive home. I would be slumped next to him, giggling like mad at my own jokes and he would look across at me and give me a "look".
Yes, the part-time lover has gone back last Sunday. We didn't quarrel once, this time. I had been very cool the last few months before he came as I didn't know whether I cared or not. I must try and do that again, it worked like magic, he couldn't have been more romantic!! AND spent hours doing my garden, there's not a weed to be seen. The wooden benches are all varnished and the gate!! He worked like a slave and looked quite worn out when he left. He is very difficult to understand and I've given up trying to.
I thought your jokes were brilliant, where do you get them from?
I see SC is doing his magic on R2 to-night. Will we never be rid of him?
You'd think he'd have enough with the new forum. I must have a look at his new picture.
As you say, there are some funny people about.(Or was that on your other message?)
We are not all that far from Wimbledon here in Sussex, but it never seems to rain here when it does there. I'm fed up watering the garden every night. Weather isn't all that wonderful anyway.
Doesn't the house feel empty when the visitors have gone? I'll never forget the first time my Mum and Dad came to visit us. We took them back to London to catch the train to Harwich and when we came back their dirty cups and saucers were standing there. I cried buckets when I saw them.
My friend forgot two of his shirts and it seems as if he's still here when I see them hanging up in the spare room.
Speak to you again soon, Jen.
Hi Jen, Catharina here!
U643499 Posted Jul 2, 2004
Hi Catharina.
I get my jokes either off the net, or friends and ex-colleagues send them to me. I think if you work in a big office, there are always jokes etc weaving their way around.
Yes, when visitors have gone the house seems so empty. Although I enjoy people here, a part of me is always glad when they go. I can just be on my own and do what I like.
Weather is dreadful here. Strong winds and the hanging baskets are getting a real hammering. Petals and leaves flying everywhere.
I have not had time to see the R2 board so not read any of the SC posts. I did go and look at the new R2 pirate board and saw that Penny was on there ! I did laugh at her photograph.
I cannot believe that Greece and Portugal are in the final. I wonder if anyone placed a bet on either one being the outright winners or at least a runner up ? Will Holland play again for 3rd place ?
Yes, the Russians and the Romanians are the nouveau riche. With both of those countries, there is an enormous divide between the rich and the poor isn't there. I also understand that their orphanages are
overflowing.
Do you remember that Pete Townsend of The Who ? He was fined and placed on the sex perverts register for looking at photos of young children. Allegedly, he put into his pc 'Boys Russian Orphanage'
Disgusting creatures these paedophiles. I believe they should be castrated. Oh, aren't I fierce today ? Ignore me.
To change the subject, saw your 'Woodn't it be nice' tune on Briant's tree theme on the coffee board. He is very funny. I added a couple of messages.
All very very serious on the JV board today. See a couple of them are fighting. Penny has told them to 'clear off' but not as pointedly as that.
Out tonight, and going to a luncheon party on Sunday. Will try to stay sober. I must admit, your husband sounds like mine ! He is always telling me off and I do start to giggle and get silly when I have had a couple of drinks.
Have a lovely week-end, Catharina,
Speak soon,

Hi Jen
I used to work in a big office, there were about 60 of us. I just LOVED going to work, although it was very stressful as we had deadlines to meet, but oh, the buzz, the adrenaline was up all the time.
What you said about paedophiles, I agree with you wholeheartedly. Just hand me those garden-shears!!!. I just cannot understand those people at all. Why does it seem to be so prevalent or was it always there and we just didn't hear about it.
When I was a small girl, there was an old chap always hanging around our school-gate. We all liked him as he was always very kind to us. One day my father warned me not to have anything to do with "Jantje". I remember saying: "Why not? He LOVES little girls!!!" I don't know whether he was harmless or not!
Had a lovely day to-day. I went in a coach to "The Mill" at Sonning, a little village in Kent. You have lunch there and then see a farce in the tiny theare, holds 200 people. Usually these farces are very tedious, but this one was quite good. It was "Stepping Out" by Richard Harris. About 10 ladies of various sizes join a tap-dancing class. It was quite hilarious. One very fat black lady wo wobbled all over. Oh yes,and ONE Man. It reminded me a bit of our line-dancing classes when after each turn we would face people coming towards us!!
Hope you'll enjoy your lunch-party tomorrow. I'll be watching the Grand Prix.
Isn't it a pity that my husband isn't here any more. It would have been great fun to make a foursome, I'm sure we would be giggling drunkenly all the time and our husbands exchanging looks and looking disapproving.
I haven't had time to look at the boards to-day. Only just found out that the young Russion girl won the title. Unbelievable. I liked watching her, although it sadly reminded me of how my body has deteriorated. I was young and slim once. Can just about remember it.
Hope to see you around tomorrow.
Have one on me!!

Hello Jen,
Have you nodded off?
I'll bet you do what I do. I read a message and then it, sort of, disappears from "my page" and I forget all about it.
Isn't everything dull at the moment? Apart from Jason's new job. Seems to me we ought to have another wild party soon, although I must admit I'm very dozy at the moment. Have they put something in the water? Not that I drink much of that really.
How are things in Zummerzet? Cold, like here?
It shows that there's not much going on when and I have a conversation going about our duvets and tog nos.
Wild parties indeed.
Think I'll go and watch Emmerdale, which I taped. Dead body about, always good for a laugh.
See you soon.
to bed, I think, can't keep awake XX

U643499 Posted Jul 8, 2004
Hi Catharina !
No, not nodded off, just a bit dopey ! I read messages, both on here and my e mail, then think that I'll reply later, only my mind goes AWOL.
Got the fire on because it is soooo cold. Managed to post a little tonight on both boards, but only Helen, Penny and I about. PP is bidding on e bay for Jeremy's tie. It's all in aid of Children In Need. I shall try to follow the progress tomorrow lunch time.
Nothing much happening here. I am trying to sort out a holiday for my husband and I, but there is so much getting in the way !
I am babysitting this week end, and we are out Friday night, so not much time for sorting out the holiday.
I have been to our local travel agents and I can get the same holidays for £200 or more cheaper on the net.
Have you been to Sorrento ? I would like to holiday there this year.
Been to Italy 4 times, but never Sorrento and the Amalfi coast.
Reading any good books ? I just cannot get into reading at the moment. In desperation I visited my local library today and took out a May Higgins Clarke novel.
Yes, I know she is not a challenge, but it's all I can manage ! Did you see that Pyscho on JV board pull me up about my grammar ? Honestly, I shrieked with laughter. Clearly I am having a boring time !
Speak soon,
Love and

FLYBYNIGHT Posted Jul 9, 2004
Morning, Jen
Yes, I do the same.
If I don't reply to a message straight away, I forget all about it. Then, after a few days I wonder why I haven't had a reply and start looking back.
I don't really have time to go on any other boards because I'm hardly keeping up now.
For some reason I feel the discussions on JV are too serious for me, I'm like Cindy Lauper, I just want to have fun.
Can't go out this morning as the gasman cometh to service the boiler. No, not me, the other one)
Now, I don't really WANT to go out, but because I can't, I'm feeling frustrated.
My husband and I went to Sorrento and had a great time, mainly due to the people we met. Going onto the coach from the plane to the hotel there was the usual assortment of people. One young man looked quite frightening, big bovver boots, shaven head and a designer stubble, before that was fashionable. His partner was a very short, buxom girl, a real cockney.
We saw them at reception having a lot of trouble because they wanted a
double bed and weren't married. (I'm talking of some years ago)
When we got down for dinner, we had to share the table with them and a young Scottish girl. An ill-assorted lot, my husband being very "correct" and polite, dressed niceley etc.
There had been 5 rolls on the table (one each) but the couple had eaten them all out of boredom, they said.
I sat next to bovver boots and he was soooo shy. Unbelievable. His girlfriend was very chatty and soon we were all laughing and having a good time. The food in this hotel was horrible and bovver boots said each evening: "I wonder what they'll attack our guts with to-night?" We spent the whole week together, going everywhere, the 5 of us and when it was our day to go home there were lots of hugs and tears!!!
We didn't exchange addresses because we all knew that away from Sorrento we had such different lifestyles.
We found the people in Sorrento so lovely,Very friendly. We walked to the top of Vesuvius, (thought I'd die there and then),we did all the "touristy" things and, as I said, because of the company, I've seldom enjoyed a holiday so much.
I had a look back at the JV board, but couldn't find the posting you mentioned.
I can't believe the things some people come out with.
And how they get worked up about some things. Life's too short.
I must try and have a look at E-Bay, you see, I'm always half a dozen steps behind!!!
Hope you find the holiday you're looking for, Jen. We didn't go to the beach at all when we were there, it wasn't easy, are you a sun and sand person?
See you soon. Going to make
Love
Catharina

Hi Catharina,
I am a lazy person on holiday ! My husband is the one who gets fidgety and has to be on the move.
But if he wants to go water skiing or windsurfing, I am quite happy watching. However, we like walking and visiting famous and/or historical sights. So we always compromise and enjoy ourselves.
Your holiday in Sorrento was full of happy memories. It's funny the people you can get on really well with on holiday, but know you just wouldn't mix once back in the UK. We once met a couple in Spain some years ago, and we got on very well. They came to visit us a few months after the holiday and it was just a total disaster. I cringe even now thinking about it.
Weather all right here. Sun and just a little bit of blue sky.!
Yes, life's too short to argue with total strangers on a message board
Have a lovely week end, hope the gas man has arriveth,
Jen

Hiya
Here I was, waiting for a reply from you and all the time it seems it was my "turn".
How are things with you lately? Apart from rolling in melted chocolate, I mean. That's a thought, actually. Hmmmmm. Who do you want to come along and slurp...slurp?? Clean you up???
Keep wondering why I'm not more tired to-day, as I hardly had any sleep last night. I think it'll come with my first glass of wine. And THAT has to wait until 9 o'clock, because the lover phones at 8 and we talk till 9. If I have had too much wine, in vino veritas etc. It doesn't do.
Strange how SC keeps appearing and disappearing, isn't it? Have you figured out who the chocolate soft-centre is yet, or have you known all along?
He called me BFN yesterday, and when I said it was a long time since someone called me that, he didn't answer. Ha!
Are you still line-dancing? God, I used to get so overheated! And you daren't stop because all the doors and windows were open and it was freezing cold if you weren't dancing. I must have been on the verge of a heart-attack many a time, although it got better after a while. I learnt to make smaller steps and preserve my energy.
But then, when you get a tall man with very long legs in front or behind you and they make large strides, you've got to keep moving. Great fun, would have been even better if they'd had a bar there.
We all had tee shirts with SMILE and a smiley on our bezooms, because most people looked so earnest. It wasn't easy to remember the steps and laugh at the same time. That was my undoing.
I'll see if I can catch you in the CB this evening, difficult as you're in a box!
Lots of love
Hi Jen, Catharina here!
U643499 Posted Jul 21, 2004
Hi Catharina
Just a quick reply. It was fun on the CB tonight. I only managed half hour, but made the most of it. All the messages were getting mixed up.
I have told BC that I don't like boxes, but he keeps putting me in one !
Yes, he/she knows a lot about us all, so it has to be a regular........
Sorry, must dash as I have loads to do and my time is not my own tonight !
I may be away next week, either living in a box or en vacance.
Night night, and hope you have a good night's sleep,
Love andand
Jen
