Hello Fly
I was caught lurking!! Saw your message just as I was going to bed. Sorry I didn't reply but I was shattered after a horrendous day dealing with the gas board who wanted to wreck almost every room inthe house in order to install an all singing all dancing boiler that I didn't need. Sense prevailed in the end and they agreed to just use the system we had with a couple of modifications!! It will be lovely to have heat again after 8 days without.
What are you reading at the moment? My Mum gave me a Rosamunde Pilcher that I haven't read, Winter Solstice, easy to read which is what I need right now.
I tried to post a couple of times on the MBs yesterday but it was so slow I gave up. The mood I was in I think I would have picked an argument with everyone so probably just as well!!
Must go and make a shopping list. Enjoy your day.
Helen.

Hi Helen,
I haven't spoken to anybody lately who hasn't had trouble with gas, electricity, water or something.
I keep thinking to myself: You can cope, you're a strong woman, don't give in. But you wonder when something's going to give.
Still, all's well that ends well. If I had no heating I'd have to go to anhotel, can't bear being cold. My house is always too hot, I expect that's why I have the sore throat and dry cough. Oh well!!
I am reading Erica James's: A sense of belonging. I'm hooked on her books and think I've read most of them by now. I think you would like them too, they are easy-reading but with interesting characters and a lot of humour. Hope you'll try one.
Must go shopping now,
See you later.

Hi Fly
I've got 'Precious Time' by Erica James to read next. I read 'Hidden Talents' last year, it was about a writers group and I enjoyed it. Have you read 'A Breath of Fresh Air'? The village where it is set is very close to where I live and which I found quite amusing because there are people who live there who are exactly like the characters!
The heating is fixed but it's not working!! I despair! They are working on it so I'm hopeful.
It's going to be takeaway tonight as the kitchen is still like a pigstye! I'll get there. I'm going to pour myself a large glass of wine as soon as they've gone.
Have a nice weekend!

Hi Helen,
I've just been celebrating on the other side because your heating is fixed. Spoke too soon.
Is it Gas?
I don't know if I'm allowed to say this but I belong to the Gas Board 3* system and they come out and mend things at any time, never have to wait. Parts etc. are free, as is labour. Sounds like advertising, doesn't it?
Yes, I read all those books by E.J. and I always think they must be real people, they come to life so easily, don't they? And she must have spent a long time in Corfu. her books are so easy to read. Nice part of the world you must live in.

Hi Fly
It now seems to be fixed so house lovely and warm. We are also on the 3* thing but we needed a new boiler so it wasn't covered. The problem was an air blockage hopefully it's sorted.
Am looking forward to reading the E James. I'm in Cheshire which I think is where she is from according to various notices in the bookshop!
Glad you enjoyed the champers over in the CB
Night night!
Helen.
