h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Some idiot who doesn't know his own email address has created accounts on a financial services site, a bunch of US theme parks, a couple of US golf courses, and now two or three sites dedicated to dating black women. Apparently none of these services require any form of address confirmation before signing you up to regular emails. And a couple of them let you log in just by following a link from the email. I'm not sure whether to be amused or irritated.

Now that particular bit of mischief hadn't occurred to me.

I'm just reasoning that back, you see. If there unflattering ones, that must mean there are, y'know. I just never thought those might exist

nice logic! maybe on his profile you could put in some interesting text... that might gain him attention from..... people he otherwise not necessarily want to be contacting him from the site

I suspect that some are worse than others.

For reference, I've decided to just shut his accounts down (changing passwords first, so he can't recreate them). He's not bothered to fill in any details: just created a bunch of accounts on a load of dating sites. I already got in touch with the financial services site (the only one I'd feel at all bad about screwing up for him), and told them that the email address is wrong, and they've stopped sending me emails, so I suppose they took it seriously. For all the other sites, I'm just deleting existing emails, and whenever a new one comes in I'll log into that site and close the account. Less fun, perhaps, but more effective.

(I did fill in a previously blank profile on one dating site to say something like "I'm an idiot who doesn't know my own email address, so someone else has access to this account", and when I logged back in today it was blank again, so I changed the password, reset the preference to men, and then closed the account. When I changed the preference to men, I got a lot of dickpics. It's not exactly a *quality* dating site. And, after closing the account, I was still able to log in, which suggests that the code quality isn't very good either. But at least the password's changed, so he can't do anything to it now.)

I mean, I suspect that some pictures of Trump are worse than others. I mean, some are unflattering, and some are *very* unflattering.

He threatened some news outlets for only using "unflattering" images of him. They were puzzled as well.
