When the range is newly cleaned, the layer of ash that usually sits below the oven is gone. That means that there is no insulation between the oven and the drawer under the range. And that means that you should be careful when you open that drawer to get a dustpan.
On Sunday evening, I burned the pads on all four fingers of my left hand. Not good.
