So, my second trip to the UK this month. And, unlike last time (Brighton Pride), there has so far been no transport trouble. The boat was late, but the train waited, and I got to Bangor without difficulty. Sail&Rail tickets allow break of journey, so I left the train at Bangor and took a bus to Caernarfon, where I found accommodation for two nights (in two different B&Bs, as I couldn't find anywhere with two nights available: I'll book the hostel next time).
The next day I climbed Snowdon. It was my first time to walk alone. I surprised myself by overtaking more than I was overtaken on my way up the PYG track. The cwm was full of mist, but it retreated ahead of me and I met it only on the last pull up to the ridge, after the PYG and miners' tracks join. (At that point, I stopped to eat lunch, which I should have done earlier in the sunshine.)
I stayed a good while at the summit. There was a chap who'd climbed up to dance there, and gathered a crowd to dance with him: he's making a promotional video for his later attempt to break the world record for the longest dance. This is to raise money for a charity involved in educating people about Burma. So I danced: twice, because his camera didn't work the first time. Many of the dancers in the second attempt were part of a blind group who'd climbed the mountain with guides.
I went back down the smoother Llanberris path, which I'd not done before.
Today I took the bus back to Bangor and the train to Bedford, where I am now at my granddad's place, using his computer.
Tomorrow: London.

I never understood the point of climbing Snowdon when there's not only a railway but a large cafe at the top. Glad you enjoyed it, though

Snowdon was fantastic. I got some views from the summit too. It cleared briefly, in patches. And it was clear all the way down the Llanberis track.
