I believe you. I hated even going to the workrooms or to one friend's place to work on projects; all my things had to go in the wash afterward.

It's the one thing I dislike about this shared house. Everything else is fine, but one of the lads smokes, and other people who are in the house a lot also smoke.

I once went to bed thinking I'd shower in the morning, then got up and showered because I couldn't sleep with the smell on my skin. It's nasty.

I think I'll get myself a small table and become a hermit in my room.

I suppose it's too late for ground rules about only smoking in your own room?

Definitely. They've all been here years. I'm the newest inmate.

Do they smoke everywhere? Any chance you could ask to have say the kitchen smoke free? Or are they all hardcore?

I couldn't live in a smokers house now (if they still smoked everywhere). I was living in a smokers house when I gave up smoking, which was pretty interesting.

An interesting development these days is households of smokers who voluntarily smoke outside. I know quite a few like that, but it would have been hard to imagine a few years ago.

Pity your crew hadn't been like that, Trig.

The smoker is also the landlord's son. Not much move there, I think.

I get on with them all fine, actually, but I'm not going to kick up a fuss. Perhaps I should. I don't know.

If you have a living room as well as a kitchen, it seems reasonable to have the kitchen smoke free.

Yes. It does. I might campaign for that, actually. It usually is, anyway.

It's good you get on with them, makes asking easier I think and less 'loaded'.

Got anywhere with the smokers yet?

Not yet. He's been out a lot since.

How did you find it here, TRiG?

I smoke, P doesn't & hates it also, i smoke in my own room, bathroom with window open or outside.

P claims he can tell if i have even just run through with a cig from my room to bathroom, but if i've just lit one, then need a pee, it seems stupid to waste it, they are bloody expensive in Eye land.
