My parents had some friends over to dinner last night, but my mother had some assignments to write. She had the smart idea of asking me to move the standard Sunday evening "eat pizza and play Uno till two in the morning" night to their house. That way, we could entertain her guests after dinner, while she snuck off to commune with the computer. Clever woman, my mother.
On Sunday afternoons, a bunch of us go hillwalking. And we reconvene in the evenings for cards. Between the two, some go to football with another bunch of friends, and others go to badminton. Not being a sporty type, I don't, so I arrived early at my parents house, planning to help my mother do some proofreading.
I didn't, though. Instead, I messed around on the trampoline with my parents' visitor's twelve-year-old son.
Then we ate. Pizza. And then two guys who'd been playing football arrived. D came in and chatted to us as we finished our dinner, saying he'd wait till the rest of the card players arrived before eating. P went back to fixing his bike in the back yard. (I don't know why he'd walked his bike up town to my parents' place to fix it. We'd collected him and S from my parent's as we went hillwalking earlier. S, my flatmate, had also been fixing his bike.)
After the food had settled, I went out to chat to P. D and the young lad were already there. Somehow, we all ended up on the trampoline, playing tig.
When the badminton players and the non-hillwalkers who join our card evening arrived, we abandoned the trampoline and went indoors. But somewhere in the process I had burnt my right knee on the trampoline. This morning, I could barely walk.
It'll heal.

Tough enough. It's oozing puss, now, but not very painful. Wouldn't like to walk a long distance on it, though. Actually used a taxi today, for the first time in I know not how long, to get from my flat to my parents' house. They're out, but I have a maths student who comes here (because he started coming before I'd moved out). But he didn't turn up today, so I could've stayed in the flat.
Actually, I have some of my mother's college assignments to proofread, anyway. Just starting that now.
TRiG.
