It's a damp, dreary day here in the shire, so it seems a good time to concentrate on scholarly pursuits. Currently reading 'The Monks of War,' a revised edition of the 1972 book about the fighting religious orders of the Crusades, patriculary the Teutonic Knights, Hospitalliers, & those ever popular Templars, the wellspring of every conspiracy theory for the last 700 years.
