h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

It certainly doesn't seem like Fall yet; it's still hot as hell here. Supposed to stay warm for the rest of the week, anyway.

The Dauphin, Achilles, has been giving me some problems: had the old family reunion yesterday & A. showed up with black fingernail polish & unmatched shoes. He tried to be clever & say it was an accident, but I'm reading his blog where he says that he does it deliberately to antagonise the clan. As families go, our tribe is a nice one, so I don't know why he feels the need to be so difficult. He has also come out as an agnostic, despite being confirmed just 6 months ago. His mother thinks he is being influenced by his friend Harrison, the vicar's son, who is totally rejecting everything his parents taught him.

On the way into the shop, ran into Jensen's mom, who apologised to me for the spot of trouble that Jensen, Harrison, & Achilles got into, as they were all visiting at her place when the "incident" occured. I assured her that she was blameless &, indeed, the unfortunate event could have occured wherever the 3 boys were staying. Achilles is maintaining ties with his youth group so, hopefully, that bodes well for the future.

Artemis loves her new school: this is her 1st experience with parochial school, & she fits in fine. The main bone of contention, the uniform, vanished once she actually started wearing it. Now, she wears it even on weekends because it's 'comfortable.' I am so pleased that she is pleased, & I am keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way.

Bit of a slow day at the shop. Jordan, my girl Friday, had a migraine, but was functional. Her parents aren't speaking with her because she accepted an invitation from her brother's girlfriend's parents for supper. I don't fully understand it. She tried contacting her father this afternoon, but they kept missing each other.

This is the beginning of a busy week. More about the reunion later. Need to notify my brother about it, as he couldn't attend.
