why cannot the nhs please monitor schizophrenics more closely. after reading about the john barrett case and how closely this mirrors the murder of a friend who lived with us last august, ben cargill. it is extremely worrying that the murderer has only been convicted of manslaughter and in hospital but will probably be released back into our community. we all see mentally ill people around who could usually do with some more care. we look at them with pity or sometimes even derision, perhaps we even think they maybe just drunk or off their heads on drugs. but the truth is they have been neglected by a society that alienates them and they are left to their own devices and do not cope. more killings of this nature are bound to occur unless there is some policy change. even people with severe personality disorders are left unchecked and their victims unprotected. i have known people with scizophrenia and antisocial personality disorders who i know were extremely dangerous and they are all incarcerated but i do not know how long for this includes 2 of my ex partners, both of whom caused a lot of facial and head scarring. the police just advised me to move.....
