The Nights Dawn Trilogy

I've just left a message for someone else on the site, and it reminded me of some books that I meant to tell you about. Given you affection for Asimov, I thought you might be interested in a series of books I've just finished reading (well, a few weeks ago) - the set is named as above, but the first one is called "The Reality Dysfunction" - I'll be honest with you Les, they are epic in every sense of the word - each book is over 1200 pages long, and the storylines cover everything from human evolution to religion. Do you remember things like Knight Rider, when at the beginning of each episode he would be kitted out with a new Laser or something, so you knew that was going to be used in the show this week? Well, some of the introductory chapters in these books are like that (it's how some of the background info or concepts are introduced into the book) but done with a lot more finesse and class. So, in case you haven't had the joy of these books (they are written by Peter F Hamilton), I highly recommend them. If you have picked them up - I would very much enjoy a discussion about them with you.

Thank you for thinking of me.
I will try and seek these books out and I look forward to discussing them with you, but given their length it won't be any time soon I fear. They cover subjects which fascinate me and I am sure they will be worth reading. I haven't heard of Peter F. Hamilton, but your recommendation counts with me.
Many thanks again,
Les.
