As far as images of vampires in popular culture are concerned, the "Buffy"/"Angel" series have a lot to answer for these days.

Sorry about the omission... But, you see, I come from a vampire country (Bulgaria) where there is no Buffy. Imagine that... I have only heard about the series. Never been able to follow them. One doesn't write about things one doesn't know, you know...

Not really keen on Buffy I am afraid. After the first season, the Vampires where just Punks or Yobs. I didn't mind the first season as 'The Master' was suave and sophisticated, although being ugly. he reminds me of Count Orlock.

You should check out the last couple of seasons, when we finally got to see some of Spike's background, and what drove him to be the way he was.
He started out as a dandy, a fopp and a mummy's boy. Hilarious.
