Dylan Thomas - under milkwood

Bribrow - was it you suggested to me that I read Under Milkwood? I cannot find the conversation that lead up to it for the life of me. I think it was something to do with 'higher language' - well I'm off to Cornwall to visit my sister this weekend so I'll see if I can get a copy and read it. If of course, it wasnt you that suggested I read it, then apologies and put it down to the ramblings of a middle aged woman!

Hk Scrib,
If you're the one who does mainly novels and the occasional poem, yes; it was I. Ay Ay!
What I said was that I loved your poem but it was written as almost prose and would benefit from a bit of "heightened" language. You asked what that was and I said go look at Dylan Thomas. As a very poor fifth best, go and have a look at my Dance of LIfe and you'll get a hint of what I mean, even from that.
Enjoy your weekend in Cornwall. Look forward to your crit of Dance of Life!!!!!

Right - got a copy whilst away in Cornwall. My bro-in-law says get on tape with Richard Burton reading it - perfect diction apparently - so may ask local library for it, but will begin to read it too!But not now - bath and bed for me - that's a long, five hour drive home and it rained all the way!
