I am reasonably new to h2g2 and I still feel like I'm fumbling around in the dark. This sounds really pathetic but I keep opening My space hoping someone has just droppped me a line. But no! That really does sound pathetic I hope I'm not this needy in real life. I find this site kind of intimidating in a weird anonymous I-really-shouldn't-worry-about-this kind of way. So I thought I would drop you a line and say thank you for your lovely comment about my article. So...thank you.

Well thank you for "dropping me a line!" I feel pretty lost and confused myself. I am sure we'll both get much more confortable with this site in time, but in the meantime I can content myself with talking with a few random (but very nice) people. I hope you are doing well and I really did enjoy your article!

Thankyou again. Where abouts are you from? I'm in Sydney, Australia. Tell me about yourself?

Sorry that was really short...I didn't mean to make it that short. I think Australia sounds like a very nice place to live, but I am in the US as of right now. I hope you are getting more used to this site; I think I am.

Kind of getting used to it. Don't get on here much. It astounds me how much "stuff" is actually here.
How did you find out about this site?
Australia is lovely but the Rocky mountains. How amazing must that be! Are you out in the wilderness? (sorry very cliched, I'm picturing Grizzly Adams, you know).

I found h2g2 by reading The Salmon of Doubt. I am not really out in the wilderness I live in a large town/small city, but the only thing you can see out of my back door is the Rocky Mountains and Horsetooth Rock so that is pretty cool. What are your favorite sights in Australia?

Ice Queen Posted Dec 15, 2003
Me too for "The Salmon of Doubt", have you read "Last chance to see" it's beautiful.
I'm in Sydney so if I didn't say I loved the harbour I think I would probably be bannished but it really is beautiful. It sounds tacky but I love the Sydney Opera House, nothing beats a couple of cocktails on the forecourt with the Harbour Bridge (okay I'm just showing off now) in the background, as the sun goes down. I've worked there a fair bit as well, that, however, is not fun.
I've pretty much just spent my time on the east coast and I am very bias towards Sydney and Melbourne but I think one of my most favourite places is south of Melbourne. A place called Wilson's Promintory which is the most southern point of Aust. and it's absolutely stunning.
Your place sounds amazing. You said you are in the US at the moment. Do you travel around alot?

I love Colorado. I think the weather and sights are just fantastic, but Australia sounds pretty cool too. As far as traveling: I don't travel except for the family road trip. This equals two weeks in the car driving to Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and Indiana and then back to Colorado. This is occasionally fun, but having to spend that much time in the car with your family can get a little chaotic. We usually just listen to books on tape. Oh, and, I never have read Last Chance To See, but I will have to sometime.

Hey! You still online. It must be early in the morning there.

P.S. I love books on tape. I usually listen to them while I'm painting the house (or something just as innane). They take you of to another place just like reading a book.

Hi, I'm back I was gone on vacation for quite a long time in there. I hope you are doing well and that everything in your life is going well. I definitely love books on tape, they are better than movies in a lot of ways just because you don't have to watch them, although movies are great too. And responding to your first posting: we definitely have a time difference don't we?

Hope you had a nice vacation. I had a lovely quiet festive season and gradually caught up with everyone I wanted to catch up with.
I just realised the only thing I know about you is that you come from Colorado. Tell me about yourself (if you want to).

I just read your personal space and I couldn't agree with you more. My family has an australian cattle dog and she is the centre of our lives (it's quite disfunctional actually). I can't imagine life without her.
I started reading "Out on a leash" by Shirley MacLaine the other day, and while I completely agree with all her theories on life, the universe and everything, it is obviously written with alot of love (and her home sounds absolutely amazing).

HI- Wow- I got completely cut off from the internet for quite awhile there. There was a huge blizzard and there was this wierd thing where we didn't have an internet company because AT&T just got bought out or something, but hey now I finally have internet. Thanks for reading my article. I love dogs and I love working with them. As for myself I am pretty boring I spend all my time at the Humane Society where I work. I teach dog classes. How about yourself your dog sounds cute!

Welcome back! Snow in your back garden always sounded so romantic....until our modern necessities are effected and then it's a completely different story.
Jemma is very cute and the centre of everyones universe.
I spend all of my time in dark theatres usually. I work in stage management or in lighting (whatever pays the bills at the time) and if I'm lucky I don't have alot of time for much else.
