Luck appears to come in various sizes in durations and quanity. For the past two years, or has it been three, my luck has been decidely bad. Not counting my bride's memory problem since that will never get better and who knows how bad it will get. But things such as the roof leaking during one time frame, the drain to the main city drain backing up another period, and my gal losing her glasses. It seems not quite every month but often enough in a year to prevent me from paying certain obligations off.

I liked it better when periodically some thing out of the ordinary but good happened. Such as when Bon was getting into molten glass. I just happened to purchase a two dollar rub-off lottery ticket and came out with $250.00. With that I was able to help my love to purchase an oven complete with heat control and thermostat built in. That was several years ago.

Well the past two days kinda reminded me of those days of old. Yesterday I bought a two dollar ticket and got back six. No biggy but at least it was more than just my originial money back. In case anyone is interested buying tickets are not an every day thing. Usually once or twice a month. Normally when I buy groceries.

Today I got pulled over by a highway patrol lady for speeding. She said I was doing over 15 miles per hour over the speed limit. I told her that I had been driving for several hours and have been doing my best to keep to the speed limit. I had no idea that I got that far past the speed limit. I gave her the papers required and my driver's license and she said if everthing checks out okay she would just give me a warning this time.

Bon said she brought me luck. I told her, "That's right, you were with me when I bought the lottery ticket." Maybe luck just decide if I am going to spend a tank of gas driving to the state of Indiana so Bon could have her "road trip' it would give me a break for a couple of days. Meanwhile, maybe, not that I believe in the superstition, I'll knock on wood. "Knock, knock."

Of course the good luck may be trying to compensate for the letter I received last Thursday telling me to report to the school on 16 August or they may turn over to the juvenile authorities for not keeping up his studies.

And then there were the first three days of last week where our air condition was out at work and we were working at our desk in 85F to 87F degree temperatures. I complained to our office manager that I don't know what he was used to over in Israel but here we like our air conditioning. He was away for a couple of weeks competing in bowling at the Jewish Olympics. He missed a bronze in one competition by four pins.


Oh luck, you are no lady. A lady would not be so mean spirited. Hmmm, then the flip flopping back and forth could be considered such an attribute.
