h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

It’s so hot! It’s twenty-eight degrees in our office and rising. I guess it’s a stereotypical British attitude to complain about the weather no matter what. But can you blame us? In the winter it snows and all the roads get clogged up because no one was expecting it to snow. Then in the summer it’s too hot and we end up with hosepipe bans because no one was expecting it to be hot. I guess I’m just grumpy because I’m not sleeping properly at the moment. Maybe an ice-cream will cheer me up?

Once again the week is zipping by. I’ve been spending most of my time getting ready for Geneva. We fly out on Sunday and I’ve been working on a poster presentation I’m doing at the conference and also booking more hostels to stay in over the weekend with my girlfriend. I don’t really have much planned for the next couple of days other than doing laundry and packing for Sunday.

But I am finding some time to fit in a bit of fun. Last night I went Ceroc dancing again with my girlfriend. I’m really enjoying it and I think I’m picking it up faster than Salsa dancing last summer. The guy who teaches the beginner’s lesson keeps telling us he’s really impressed with us and that we’re doing so well. I feel a bit like a teacher’s pet and I haven’t the heart to tell him that I’ve done a little dancing before. But I do miss Salsa as well. My girlfriend is probably going to be playing netball on Wednesdays once she’s back in Bath so we might end up giving up Ceroc and going back to Salsa instead.

Oh well, I’d better be off. I might go get that ice-cream.
