h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Just thought I’d write a quick entry about my evening last night. As I said yesterday, I was planning a meal with my housemates as a kind of pre-Christmas celebration. Like three wise men, we each brought something to the evening. One of my housemates cooked his signature Thai green curry, my other housemate rented a movie (Eurotrip: Uncut) for us to watch and I provided beer and apple crumble for pudding.

We had a pretty good evening and I fortuitously drank just exactly the right amount of beer for Eurotrip to be funny instead of crap and not quite enough to leave me with an appreciable hangover of any kind. I’m sure the gods of beer are storing up a killer hangover for me one of these days, probably Christmas day knowing my luck.

Anyway, the real reason I wanted to write an entry is because I wanted to relate a “funny” story. We all bought presents for each other and one of my housemates got each of us a coffee mug, the kind that has a picture of a model in a black bikini on it and when you fill your mug with hot coffee the bikini magically disappears to reveal a “sexy nude female image.”

As I said, we were all a little drunk so giggling to ourselves we boiled the kettle and then proudly filled each mug with hot water to observe the effects. One mug worked like a charm, but when the black knickers faded from my mug I was rewarded with a picture of a girl in white underwear instead.

So today my housemate is returning to the shop to complain. I think he’s actually looking forward to explaining the “defect” with his purchase. I hope he’s in a playful mood. I know I’m going to hear all about it in the new-year.

Anyway, I’d better be off. Like I said yesterday, I’m going out for a romantic meal with my girlfriend tonight at the Wife of Bath, which I’m quite looking forward to. And it’s the my last day before Christmas anyway, so I’m skiving off early.
