Amy: ear-deep in novels, poetics, and historical documents. Posted Mar 10, 2000
I read it best explained as this:
2000 is the popular millenium. 2001 is the scientific millenium. I think it has something to do with the way we count or something... generally we start with the number 1, not 0.
I think it might as well be both, so we can party all year long!

Ah well, that explains that...
I would party all year long, if I was the partying type. Unfortunately amoebas don't get on very well with parties. They tend to get squashed...

I don't party very much myself, but only because my group of friends from school/church don't do parties that much. "get togethers", yes, but not always parties. But we have fun anyway... we went out for coffee/tea last night where there was some live music for about an hour until we got kicked out by the one waiter, Noah, who happened to know Skie well enough to do that without getting beaten. (I mean that in the kindest, non mean way possible). Bunches of fun, and I finally got to taste some "Tea. Earl Grey. Hot." (if you're not a Trekkie, you probably won't know what that means... I'm ready to explain if need be).

We got kicked out because it was 2 minutes till closing time, and the waiter knew Skie, so he just kinda came over and said, "hey, two minutes you guys." So we left. It's not technically getting thrown out, but still.... close enough.
Yeah... "proper tea"... I could go for some earl grey right about now... I need the caffeine fix.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
