Weston Super Mare

The beauty of not being native to the Bristol area is that unlike the general population I do not consider a mud flat to be a "seaside" resort. Strange how people from Weston Super Mare cannot see this....
(Apologies to any one in Weston, but I've been twice. Once the tide was out and I had to throw away my boots. The other time was in April of last year when 1/2 an inch of snow covered the slime).

I've never understood the weston thing either, or how everyone in Bristol thinks they live near the sea when it's only a river. I keep pointing out that if they want to see a proper port they should got to Southampton or Portsmouth but they think they'd wither up and die if they left Bristol for more than 10 minutes! smiley - smiley

I have to congratulate the two of you on some very valid points! I don't think either of you could be more right.....apart from maybe the fact that everyone that lives in weston refers to it as a seaside town! I live here and I don't know one person who has ever referred to it as that! Nor do I think that anyone who lives here actually likes it, apart from maybe the over 60's which probably contribute to over 50% of the Weston population! Oh and I don't think you can refer to the sea as even a river its more of a mudflat! Later
