Researching an incident

Would you be so kind as to offer some suggestions about how I might help a friend to research a crash of a Hudson on take-off at RAF St Mawgan on 19/5/1943.
Her father, Dick Jesse, was the pilot and we believe that Air Commodore Sir Nigel Norman ( who was in command of 38 group ) was one of the passengers killed.
She would like to discover as much as possible by using on-line resources before having to travel to London to make further enquiries.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ross McNeil is your man for this. He is the acclaimed author of "Royal Air Force Coastal Command Losses of the Second World War", although so far only volume one covering 1939-1941 has appeared, I'm sure he would be able to help you.
