Hi Peter
Just spotted your comments on 'Beating Lord Haw-Haw' and yes, it is a cracker of a story.
Also noticed that you have a copy of Harry Holmes book on Lancasters.
The strange thing is that on my copy, to refer to W4201 you need to go to Page 182 and not 184, for the further ref I need to go to page 126, not 128.
I bought my copy when I was researching my brother's plane (RF 154, which was shot down on 17-3-45).
For this item, on my copy anyway, you need to go to page 139.
Regards
Ron

Hi Ron
I have the 2nd edition, this may account for the different pagination.
Thanks for the information about RF154, your brothers plane, I have made a note in my book.
I also have "Combat Legend - Avro Lancaster" also by Harry Holmes, and "Lancaster" by Christopher Chant. I live very close to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, at RAF Coningsby, where the magnificent "City of Lincoln" Lancaster is housed and I often visit; the voluntary guides are exremely knowlegeable and answer questions on the spot. It frequently flies over my house, which incidently is at the very edge of the WW2 bomber airfield (long demolished and built over) of Skellingthorpe.
My interest really grew from that. I now have similar detailed records for Bristol Blenheims, Stirlings, and Spitfires; the original maintainance manuals for both the Spitfire V and Hurricanes II; and the complete operational diary for 49 Squadron from 1916 to 1945. But my real pride and joy is a superb print of a Tornado of 49 Squadron at RAF Coningsby, signed by the Squadron Leader and all the pilots, 38 autographs in total. From this I became interested in WW1 aircraft and I have the complete RAF Communiques for 1918 which were issued weekly for internal consumption, fascinating reading.
I have lots of other aircraft books, but the above are my most important ones.
All the best,
Peter
