Hi Peter,
The "about me" part of my personal page has disappeared. I am left with instructions to submit my proper name as apparently I am only indentified by my number. Also I am asked to submit some info about myself. I had already done this - see "my father" -and it has gone!
Can you help.
Marjorie

Hi Marjorie
Seems like another bug. There is nothing I can do, being just a member like yourself, except alert one of the WW2 Team - which I have just done.

Hi Marjorie
I'm very sorry - it does look as if your personal page 'About me' section has been attacked by a bug.
I will report this to our technical team and get back to you about what you can do to reinstate the text 'My father'.
Many apologies once again,
Helen, WW2 Team

I just wondered how the technicians were getting on with my page?

Hi Marjorie
I just checked your Personal Page, it now looks normal to me. Take a look.

Hi Peter,
No, it's still missing the "about me" data and asking me to put in my name. I have tried re-doing it but it just defaults back to what it was.
It's funny that when you go in it looks normal. Very strange bug!
Regards,
Marjorie
ps I have been reading your posts about research desks and I certainly agree. I do not know the difference between "General Military" and "Army" either. Also, from my point of view it would be helpful to have a POW desk. There were so many POW camps that it would be good to collate the info under one desk.

Hello Marjorie
I'm orry to hear you are still experiencing problems. We've been working on this for a long time and have not had much joy.
I also like your recommendations for editing the Research Desk titles and I will pass them on to the site producer.
Best wishes,
Helen, WW2 Team

Hi Helen,
My personal page is still the same; I have tried re-doing the "about me" bit again and it still defaults back to a non-person!
I noticed on the site today there is another Marjorie - albeit with a different ID (714722). Could this not be very confusing? I looked at a message the other Marjorie had left and I thought I was going slightly crazy as I couldn't remember typing it!
Someone could click on her name thinking it was me or vice versa.
Hope to hear from you soon.
The other Marjorie!

Dear Marjorie
Two different problems here. The personal page problem is one we have been wrestling with for a while - I would like to try something that might fix it, but it will mean 'hiding' your personal page as though it had broken the rules. I will try and fix it and unhide it as soon as I can. I can't promise anything, though!
I will ask the 'new' Marjorie to change their name, but in the meantime you could always switch to something like 'the original Marjorie'! To do this, click on the 'Change this name' link near the top, right-hand corner of the page and alter it accordingly. You can always change it back when the other person changes theirs.
Best wishes

Dear Marjorie
I have managed to reinstate the information in your personal page - I have to run this by the tech people but I will write out instructions as to how to cure this for other members.
I have left a message for the other Marjorie so we will have to wait and see if she changes her name.
Best wishes

Thank you Paul for your help. My page looks fine again. I may well take your advice about changing my name and becoming slightly incognito!
