Peter, I have only just today come across your reply to my question about the Structure of the British Army. I grateful for your comments and help. I've started researching my fathers service in the British Army during WW2. All that I know is that he spent a brief period in the K.S.L.I before moving on to the South Staffordshire regiment and then the Green Howards for about 3 months before returning to the South Staffs. I'm about to send off a request for information to the Army Personnel Centre (APC) in Glasgow. Your reply is therefore useful for me to understand 1) the questions I might put to the APC and 2) the smallest Army unit I might need to look for in establishing my fathers likely movements at any one time. Thanks again.
